Singapore Trapezoid House
The unique Trapezoid House in Singapore is a new project by K2LD Architects, which plays with the interior and lush green exterior, offering marvelous views.
The tradition of building unique square house is seriously shattered with this incredible trapezium house. It is located on a uniquely shaped triangular plot, the house frames the site with prominent features -the trapeziums. The lush greenery of the territory sort of embraces the house, whereas the unusual shaped roofs protect the house from the seasonal heavy storm rains.
The three level building plays with forms, textures and colors. To underline the depth of façade, two kinds of the timber were used: lighter colour timber Burmese Teak for the underside of the roofs and the darker Chengai wood. Places such as the double volume Dining room, the 2nd storey passageway and the large Patio are located under the overlapping split roof. Overall, the house is a unique family residence, that is both very functional and contemporary!
