Gamla Stan Apartment Inspiration
Gamla Stan is an inspirational part of Stockholm, where the spirit of the old history flies in the air. The apartment in question is located right at this historical sight, and practically retains the ancient atmosphere, with distinct Scandinavian interior inclinations.
Rustic Scandinavian Interior
The old city, as goes the actual translation of “Gamla Stan” is really unique, as there are still cobbled streets, narrow alleys and large squares, with a lot of memories and charming sights. This apartment, we are about to discover is perfect in being the representative of the sight. Its interior is roughly rustic, yet very Scandinavian, even though it is quite modern.
The uniqueness of the apartment is in how it blends the historical component of the architecture and the contemporary interior decorating principles. The apartment is quite large, featuring about 110 square meters, which expand into two floors. The boldness of the interior is expressed through the large wooden beams that seem to hold the roof!
While the interior of the apartment is predominantly white, there are several highlighting features, which are quite usual in the Scandinavian style. There are black patterns throughout the house, displayed in the couch cushions, kitchenware and some occasional furniture.
The house is very spacious, very open and well illuminated, which is perhaps achieved through the large windows, which pour its light into the residence. Some of the furnishing items, such as the beams, statues and artworks, make the house appear rather ethnic and rustic. The contemporary side of the interior is seen through the furniture choices, elegant kitchen panels and materials.
There are several different rooms in the apartment: the hall, which greets you upon entrance, main bedroom for the masters, living room and a dining area – everything is quite classy. However the special notion deserves the ladies’ storage room, which is quite expansive and offers a lot of storing options for shoes!
