Mirror and Glass Furniture by Nendo
A glorified Japanese team headed by Oki Sato showed a collection of glass furniture items created for the Italian manufacturer of mirrors and glass furniture Glas Italia in Milan. Like many of his countrymen Oki Sato cares more about the poetic side of things. In his designs he seeks to go beyond the material world trying to make things invisible and weightless.

For Glas Italia he created a Mirror-chair that combines the functions of two objects. Mirror-chair is made of tempered glass with a frosted gradation. Decoration and color solutions help to identify the volume of the object and graphically emphasize its outline.
The chair can be used as a table for storing keys and other small items. There are two versions of the model: a large mirror with a low seat and a smaller mirror with a high stool with a crossbar.
Designer has also created a glass furniture collection called Deep-sea, which includes a coffee table and shelving. A series of glass objects looks impressive with their gentle color transition – from pale blue to deep blue. This result was achieved through the use of colored film. The number of the film layers was gradually increased creating a darkening effect.
