Lagoon Tables Are New Furniture Trend

Share |

Duffy London’s ocean map tables aren’t the only ones making waves (get it?) on the net. We’ve found another two designers that do similar designs but in their own unique style. It’s hard to tell who thought of the idea first and if it’s truly a trend or simple coincidence, but we are loving these spectacular tables.

Lagoon And River Tables Trend

Alexandre Chapelin

This is a work of Alexandre Chapelin of LA Table made out of travertine marble and resin that fills in the deliberately carved gaps creating water-like effect and deepening in color just like designer Christopher Duffy said it does when layers are added.

You can see it clearly here as each layer washes away the color more and more

Greg Klassan is an artist furniture maker who has a quiet different take on combining wood and ‘water’. He creates beautiful river and lake tables using blue glass hand-cut for his amazing tables to imitate the water while the natural irregularities of wood create the illusion of shores and sands.

Klassan makes not only dining tables but also table-benches, coffee tables, and consoles. But if you are interesting in something similar for the wall decor, the designer also does wall hangings and a beautiful River Bed (see in the gallery below).

What do you think about lagoon and river tables?
