Creative Christmas Tree Ornaments
So, to make the salt dough ornaments you will need to have: Flour, Salt, Lemon juice, Warm water, Acrylic paint, Pen, Acrylic spray (gloss), Silver embroidery thread, Parchment paper, Cookie cutters. First of course you need to make the salt dough: mix 2 cups of all-purpose flour and 1 cup salt, add one tablespoon of lemon juice and liquid mixture to the dry mixture. Then you will need to stirr the mixture until a smooth dough is formed. Then turn the dough out onto a flour surface and knead it until smooth.
Then, on a sheet of parchment paper, with a rolling pin roll out a scoop of dough to approximately 1/4 inch thickness. Use cookie cutters to give the ornaments its shape, don’t forget to make a hole for hanging the ornaments. Next step is to bake the ornaments in the oven for about 4 hours at 175 degrees Fahrenheit and don’t forget to turn them over occasionally.
Allow the cookies to dry for a week, and then paint the ornaments with acrylic paint. Then make different ornaments on the cookies using a blue pen, and paint the cookies with acrylic paint again. Let them dry and attach the strings, and by the way these are not cookies that you can eat any more !
