Share |

Bird cage is a popular home decoration. It is used as a decorative accessory and also can be given various other functions. Some of these bird cage decorations are easy to DIY. Just spray paint the cage and fill it with various things to create a nice centerpiece or console decoration.

Repurposed bird cages make for great decor accessories. Use them to fill the awkward corners, create an arrangement by mixing in the vintage suitcases and shabby chic lamps. The empty bird cages are airy but they still can add a decorative touch to the empty spaces.

The bird cages can be hung or placed on the floor and other surfaces. You can decorate them with bird toys, flowers and other small details.

Create a wall decoration out of an old bird cage. Use it as a mini scultupture or a shelf for small plant and flower pots. Bird cage mirrors look beautiful and can be used as mantel decoration or a regular mirror.

A bird cage is a natural lampshade. It can be used as an eclosure for a chandelier or as a lampshade for a pendant light. Also it makes for a great candle holder. The cage can be filled with string lights or an arrangement of various-sized candles.

Decorated with greenery, flowers, ribbons, fruit or cones a bird cage can be transformed into a beautiful centerpiece used for seasonal or festive table decor. It is a great way to decorate a wedding reception table as well as add a twist on a conventional flower vase.

Small vintage bird cages make for best centerpieces. Add a candle in the center of the cage and it will be a table light in the evening.

A bird cage can also be used as a bookshelf. Smaller cages can be redone to serve as small decorative shelves for displaying objects rather than storing something heavy on them. A big bird cage enhanced with shelves can make for a cabinet for storing glasses and small plants and flowers.

Speaking of plants, bird cages can be used as planter pots or holders as well. Put a planter pot inside the bird cage for an interesting look or use it as a trellis for crawling plants.

Just like indoors the bird cages can make for beautiful decorations outdoors. Hang them on the trees and decorate with flowers, beads and ribbons for a festive ocassion. Hang different-sized cages at different height to create a nice arrangement.
