Christmas Poinsettia Decorations

Poinsettia, a succulent plant originally from Mexico and Central America, are actually shrubs that can grow 10 feet high, and those which are considered flowers, are actually the leaves of the shrub. Poinsettias, are known for its vivid color, that can add that certain festive flare to the interior. One of the ideas for decoration is the mantle! To start off, when purchasing poinsettia, make sure it is fresh, that there are no wilted leaves, or yellowing lower leaves. Once you are sure that poinsettias are fresh, then place the pots where your poinsettias are sitting to the mantle. It is important to use the pots, because this way you can preserve the poinsettias through the holiday season, and perhaps keep them alive. However, remove any plastic wrapping from the pot, because it prevents drainage. Make sure that your poinsettias are away from the heat of the fireplace. Then start grouping the flowers on the mantle. Alternatively, you can use other flowers as well, or evergreen shrubs.
Other way to decorate with poinsettia, is to use them as table centerpieces. For this purpose, you will need to have a container and a foam. Foam is needed to make the perfect form of the flower centerpiece. Start arranging the leaves in a certain way, maybe using a candle as a centerpiece. Some people prefer faux poinsettias, and this way you can be sure that the flowers can serve you longer. Moreover, the faux leaves of poinsettias, can be painted with some glitter to add some glamour. Alternatively, you can add evergreen twigs brushes to the container, using foam. So, as you see there are a lot of ideas on decorating with poinsettias, especially during the Christmas holidays season!
