Candleholder Designs

Candle and candle-holder usually go together as the unified piece, and if candles are pretty conventional, it is the candle holder that can be a great design statement. Let’s review some of the most outstanding candle-holders,starting with this delicate Kishu by Maya Selway, which is a silhouette of a candle-holder. Maya Selway is exploring the perception tricks, by making a silhouette of the candle-holder, which makes it appear really dainty. Actually, the collection also includes in vases, bottles and other kitchenware products. This collection won a prize in second prize in the Object category of the Interieur Design Awards at the Interieur design biennale in Kortrijk, Belgium.

The next object is Istanbul Twilight by Amsterdam designer Siba Sahabi, which also took part in some Designer event, namely the MINT during London Design Festival, and these candle-holders are inspired by the colors and silhouettes of Istanbul’s skyline at dusk. Each piece of the Istanbul Twilight collection was made by coiling long strips of felt into circles, because wool doesn’t easily catch fire.

Next aspiration is the Gravity candle holder by Jólan van der Wiel, who is known for a series of objects designed in the same way. So, these candle-holders are made with the same technology: he used liquid plastic with some iron, mixes it in a bowl and lets it all into his originally designed magnet machine. The procedure itself has to be done very quick, and in five minutes the candle-holder is done!

Next in our list is the inspirational Walk the Walk by David Taylor, which looks like packed pieces holding up the candles. Stockholm based designer David Taylor combines concrete, wood, silver, tin and DIY components in his latest collection of candle holders, dishes, mirrors and lighting, which looks just amazing, especially the candle-holder.
