Villa SSK Residence
The villa SSK residence is a unique project by Takeshi Hirobe Architects, that takes inspiration from the surrounding ocean, movement of sun and natural landscape.
Unique Japanese Residence
Located in Chibo, Japan, the house is surrounded by the Tokyo Bay waters and this proximity of the water is playing a significant role in architecture of the house. The contemporary box construction strategy was sacrificed for the amazing comfortable interiors, notice how the cube is peculiarly distored!
As requested by the client, Takeshi Hirobe Architects build a “generously proportioned living, dining and kitchen area, a bathroom overlooking the ocean, a guest room, and a spare room that could be used to display his beloved car”. The creation of this project was a long process with a lot of consideration of the natural landscape. As described by architects:
“The architectural form of this building somehow emerged during the long process of analyzing and studying the location… By combining rigid timber panel wall-building and truss arches, we were able to create a tunnel-shaped space with almost no right-angled walls despite the wide span of the building”.
