Boat’s House at Millstatter Lake
The Boat House at the Millstatter Lake is an interesting contribution to the Austrian landscape in terms of architecture, and interior design!
Austrian Boat House
Located right on the water front of the Millstatter Lake in Carinthia, the Boat’s House is a massive wooden construction, that not only offers accomodation for the boat, but also some place for people in summer times! Designed by a Vienna based architecture company MHM architects, the Boat house boasts is unique construction for the shoreline of the breautiful Austrian lake.
The boat house has a secret. Due to the fact that the authority banned the outside footbridge for docking on to the boathouse at the west facade, the alternative solution has been found. MHM architects developed a system of facade-integrated folding elements was developed, which can form the horizontal, passable surface. On the north side of the building, there is an entrance gateways to the three boat moorings. Besides providing space for the boats, there is also sauna, steam bath and changing room on the ground floor. The upper floor offers rooms for solarium, massage and fitness training, as well as a small tea kitchen and a relaxing area. What connects the levels is the staircase.
