Amazing UK Hind House
Have you ever wanted to live close to nature, and imagine yourself to be seating somewhere near the banks of a grandiose water source? Well, someone has fulfilled your dream, specifically the John Pardey Architects, who designed this amazing massive Hind House.
Contemporary River House
Located on the banks of the river Loddon, near Wargrave, the Hind house presents a huge box like construction consisting of three areas:guest room, living room and bedroom, that are located in the improvised “wings”. These wings are constructed in a special way to avoid the flooding of the house, because it is actually possible to be flooded on that location.
The John Pardey Architects has constructed the house bearing in mind the seasonal floods and its consequences on the people. There is a staircase that leads to the house, and during the floods the staircase is almost under water. The impression of the flooding river, besides the fear, is of course – fascination. Initially, the house was built in 1970 and then remodeled in 2008, to the present form. In general, the Hind house presents a marvelous blend between architecture and nature, presenting the intriguing view, especially during the flood.
