Refresh Your House Before Christmas
Christmas is coming so it’s time to get your house ready for decoration, guest reception and celebration. If you live in a small apartment you are in luck but a big house can seat more guests so don’t get discouraged by the thought of all the cleaning you have to do before and especially after the holidays.
Spruce Up Your House Before Christmas
First piece of advice, don’t try to do everything in one day. Break down your pre-Christmas cleaning into a few phases. They may include de-cluttering, dish-washing, or even a slight repair. Choose a week when you aren’t too busy with work and pre-holiday parties and social visits and get yourself as many helpers as you can to make it less stressful and tiring.
Touch Up Walls & Floors
Touching up walls can take some effort and require some special tools as can floor touch ups but it’s definitely worth it. Your house will look shinier with all the lights and clean walls and glossy floors.
It’s kind of a tradition to re-evaluate and sum up the things one’s life in the end of the year but it can also be true for stuff. If you don’t have time or desire to de-clutter your entire basement or attic, make sure to at least get rid of things you don’t use around the house. Thus you will free up the space in the living room or in your wardrobe. In other words, make room.
Clean Room At A Time
If you have a few rooms try cleaning them thoroughly one at a time. Dedicate a day to one room and make sure to clean up every nook and crany and dust all the top shelves or drawers. Take the carpet out after vacuuming it thoroughly and shake more dust out of it. Leave it outside for a couple of hours to freshen.
Clean Up Kitchen
Kitchen is one of the dirtiest places in the house. Now is the time to have a big cleaning and make sure everything is ready for holiday celebration.
Don’t Forget Outdoors
Living in your own house requires you to look after exterior and the surrounding space as well as the interior. Be sure to clean up the garden, mop the pathways and clear away the clutter and tools.
