Keeping Your Christmas Tree Alive
Once you have purchased your Christmas tree, you need to make sure that it will be alive. Here are some tips on keeping your tree lush and green!
Christmas Tree Alive
The best way to preserve the Christmas tree is to purchase the freshest one, and this can be done by examining the needles, if there are a lot of needles on the ground that means the tree is not fresh! It is important to place the tree away from the heat source, such as vents, fireplaces, wood stoves, fireplace inserts and radiators, even tv.
Make sure that the tree consumes water, this can be done by making a fresh cut on the tree trunk. New trees absorb as much as a gallon of water within the first 24 hours, so check if water is available for the tree. Also, when decorating with Christmas lights, make sure that you use LEDS or mini lights because they put off less heat which reduces needle drop. Check that your extension cord around the base of the wall–not under rugs or carpeting! These are the basics rules for keeping your Christmas tree alive!
