Mezzanino Table by Mist-o
Do you enjoy conceptual furniture pieces? Then perhaps you would be interested in this intriguing collaboration of architecture and furnishing design entitled, Mezzanino Table.
The amazing white monolithic table, designed by Mist-o design company and manufactured by Mogg company, displays an interesting approach to furniture making. Presented as a sculptural mono bloc with three stairs, this table is made from lacquered wood or it can be in a concrete finish. The stairs can be used as a functional detail, to place the various books, magazines and such. The design of the Mezzanino table is really minimalistic, bringing a tranquil atmosphere to the interior.
The people behind Mis-o are Noa Ikeuchi and Tommaso Nani, have a long history of working together as a team. In some ways this projects is international, as Noa Ikeachi has a Japanese background, and he met Tommaso Nani during his study in Istituto Europeo di Design. Of course they have also worked separately, but the sculptural Mezzanino table is their team creation. This table is unique in combining different aspects of interior design and architecture, with the stairs being the focal point of the project. As stated by designers:
There is a series of steps that direct one’s attention to the world of architecture by calling to mind the stairs of buildings and monuments and the steps leading to the door of a house.
