Lee Broom Glowing Chair
The Luminaire Bergère Chair is an amazing reinterpretation of contemporary classics by Lee Broom. Originally, it was a very luxurious chair, but with time it got really ragged up and ended up in the dump. However, recently this amazing Bergère Chair was saved by Lee Broom. By the way, Bergère chairs historically were upholstered in silk. So, Lee Broom a renowned interior designer, wh, by the way, was named ‘Designer of the Year’ at the British Design Awards in November 2011, found this awesome chair in the flea market in North Paris.
He left the piece unattended till later, when he made this chair a part of the Rough Diamond Exhibition in London, UK. Lee Broom left the chair in the condition it was, yet he added delicate turquoise neon lights. What turned out is a compeletely amazing art piece, that is a design statement, rather than a furnishing piece. However, the idea is very original, and had practical application, for instance after seeing the Rough Diamond Exhibition, MD of Boffi, insisted that Broom company designs a prototype mirror intended for Boffi to sell as part of their collections all over the world. Isn’t it inspiring?!
