The Lana Mangas furniture collection is a modular set that has multiple possibilities of usage. Initially the collection was designed for the Spanish textile brand Gan, a division of the Gandia Blasco design brand. The multifunctional assets can be rearranged in a variety of different options. The rugs can be layered out to form a cross-like patterns, while the poufs are quite convenient in terms of sitting.
The low-rise poufs also have small backrests, but in general the scheme of sitting is rather flexible. As goes for the color, Patricia Urquiola enjoys working with rather bright hues, such as pink and yellow. This collection is no exception as she chose a palette of yellow, coral, pink, grey and ivory.
Patricia Urquiola is now expanding the collection by presenting Mangas spaces. With the same texture and comfort of the rug collection, the spaces collection is comprised of modular components that can used interchangeably to create a multitude of different configurations. The combination of the rugs and modules will guarantee a warm and harmonious environment.
It is a wide known fact that Patricia Urquiola closely works in collaboration with Italian manufacturer, Moroso. However, this time the collaboration was with another company – Gan. Gan has launched a project entitled whimsically, Gan Spaces. The concept is meant to make amazing indoor landscapes with the use of minimalistic furnishings. It starts with a rug, and then goes on with other furnishing accessories, such as poufs and cushions. It is up to you to go further.
It is intriguing to see how the collection is well-coordinated to fit into the simple scheme. Another feature of the collection is the unique fabrics that provide a warm feeling of comfort. The Lana Mangas collection was showcased during the Maison&Objet 2013 design exhibition. So, how do you like the new collection?
