Lace Furniture Looks Amazingly Impossible
Crochet Lace Turned Into Furniture
Silvia Junjan is a Romania-based designer who has learned crochet skills from her grandmother and inspired by designer Marcel Wanders’ crochet lace furniture collection decided to create something similar. A few experiments and plenty of wasted fabric later Silvia came up with an epoxy treatment that allows her crochet lace furniture pieces function very well as furniture should.
Wanders created two crochet lace tables for Moooi a few years ago but his work spreads far beyond furniture.

Junjan’s studio S. J. ArtDesign does not only offer furniture. There is an assortment of matching crochet lace lamps and mirrors that make for a great addition to all these vanity tables and cloud-like seats.
The designs are also available for customization and can be as simple or complex as you want. The beauty of this kind of furniture is that it’s so light, it doesn’t feel as constricting visually as regular furniture. You can use it in small spaces without feeling crammed and it will definitely start conversations.
