DIY Dried Oranges Decor
A popular Christmas fruit, orange can easily become an inspiration for Christmas decor. Dried oranges are a cool way to add rustic charm, and cozy atmosphere to your house! For this project you will need: oranges, a knife and if you want to speed up the process, an oven! First you will need to cut the oranges, the thinner the better! Then second step is the actual drying, which can be natural or it can be fast. Preheat your oven to 150 degrees Fahrenheit, put a wire rack on top of a cookie sheet. Place the orange slices on the wire rack so they are about 1/8 inch away from one another. Set the cookie sheet into the preheated oven and let the orange slices dry out for about six hours. To make sure that your oranges dry equally, check on them and turn them over, so they would not curl up. The last step includes removing the oranges from the oven and setting the orange slices on paper towels. Spray a coat of clear acrylic spray over the oranges and let the first coat dry, then flip the oranges over and apply a second coat. Let it dry and your dried orange slices are ready!
