Incredible Railway Cottage
Railway has its own charisma, but what would you say about Railway Cottage? This post presents to you the incredible Railway cottage renovated and expanded by Zecc Architects, who magically transformed the old construction into a contemporary house.
Santpoort Noord Cottage
Located in the Santpoort-Noord, The Netherlands, this railway cottage is experiencing a second life. With its new exterior and interior, Zecc Architects have made the impossible: transformed a wrecked old construction into a splendid modern living space. The project of renovation lasted for three years, from 2009 to 2012, and recently new owners have just discovered all the beauties of this railway cottage. Very environmentally friendly, the house blends into the landscape just perfect. The transparent walls of the building allow to include nature into the house, maximizing the light penetration and reflecting off the sunshine. The interior design bears all signs of the Scandinavian style, with a major twist to the industrial cottage interventions. Big transparent windows add to the effect of the big open spaces.
The Railway house was significantly renovated and enlarged to achieve this contemporary look of the house. Apart from being an amazing blend of steel, metal rails and green dunes of the background, the house has also a historical meaning. The cottage is located between Amsterdam and IJmuiden railway with the National Park South Kennemerland on the other side. Santpoort Noord Cottage is an intriguing blend between history, architecture, interior design, industrial landscape and nature.
