Choose A Theme

Choosing a theme is one of the early steps of redesigning so it can be anything from nautical to pop culture or even a color theme. In case you cannot repaint walls in your dorm room opt for a theme that will fit with the existing color(s).

A theme or a color scheme will tie in all the things inside the room regardless of whom they belong to.

Divide Territory

When roomates’ thing get mixed up it’s becomes harder and harder to find things fast and easy. So for both order and privacy divide space in your room equally to allow both parties enjoy some comfort.

If your room is quite spacious you can choose a ‘neutral territory’ where you will eat or hang out and clean up together.

Maximize Storage

Maximizing storage in a small room is crucial. Clutter should be the least of your worries. Having enough storage space to hide all the clothes, books, and papers will make your room always look neat.

In a shared kid’s room make sure the kids have everything they need for play and study. Make sure there are two or more desks in the room if you want the kids to do their homework on time and without hassle.
